I've been declaring this for the past two years but I think it's time I go on record. Within the next three years, give or take a year, we are going to have a problem with electrical theft in our country. I'm not talking about black ski mask over the head, sneak around with a flashlight in the dark theft. Yesterday I was having lunch at my new favorite coffee shop when a man sitting at the table next to me asked me if I knew who sung the song that just played on the radio. I wish he had asked me while the song was still playing. I would have jumped at the chance to whip out my iPhone and show off the song-recognizing Shazam application. A neighborhood kid that lives down the street from me is heading off to his first year of college this fall. He recently mentioned to me that he wants a new laptop but probably won't be getting one since his parents already have a desktop computer lined up for him. A friend of mine called me today and told me how much he enjoyed the screencast on the Noobie web site that showed him how easy it is to watch television shows and full-length movies on the Hulu web site. He followed his comment up with a question that I found difficult to answer. Difficult because it's the type of question that I know the answer to but am not really sure I should give out to anyone.
