Have you ever finished a long phone conversation with a family member or a friend, hung up the phone and then immediately realized you forgot to ask them about their recent vacation or thank them for a birthday card? The days that I put an outgoing letter in my mailbox are some of my favorites. Why? Because I get to put the little red flag up to tell the mail carrier to pick up the mail. And when the mail carrier does pick up the mail, he or she puts the little red flag back down. It's not the little red flag that excites me. I've decided to revive a category of blog posts I started long ago but then let fizzle. The category is Technology I'd like to see or TILTS for short. Blog posts under this categorization will detail technologies that I wish existed and that I believe could really improve people's lives. Well, at least they could improve my life. I mentioned at the very end of yesterday's blog post that the NFL season was about to kick off and I left my readers with a resounding "uh-oh". The reason for the "uh-oh" is that my new antenna-only television setup is going to cripple my ability to watch my favorite NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. You'd think I would be used to not seeing the Packers given that I have lived in Indiana now for almost 16 years. I run into a lot of technical people that just don't understand Noobie's business plan. But that's mostly because they are technical and technical people tend to think it's absurd to pay anyone to teach them how to use technology. I always have to ask these people if they fix their own plumbing problems, wire their own electricity or replace their own water heater. Usually this gets my point across.
