It's funny what people think they want when they go to buy a new digital camera. Almost everyone I talk to says they want one of those ultra-slim cameras that you can slip into your pocket. Ironically, those same people rarely end up buying that ultra-slim camera. Reminds me when I went to pick out a diamond for my wife's engagement ring nearly 10 years ago. BabyCenter, the self-proclaimed "leading destination on the Internet for new and expectant parents" is running a poll on their web site asking moms, "Which tech gadget, electronic device, or technology can you not live without?" Technology doesn't always have to make your life more productive or more efficient. Sometimes it can just be plain 'ol fun. Take for instance my recent road trip to Florida with my family. I decided to have a little fun on the drive down and give my parents a state-by-state update of where we were on our trip. I did this by taking digital pictures on my iPhone of my kids waving or of noticeable landmarks in the area every time we crossed a state line and then emailing them to my parents with some sort of goofy subject line.…
